Barefoot Doctor Training in North Kohala----Big Island of Hawai'i The Barefoot Doctors’ Academy is presenting an ongoing series of classes on reliable knowledge, skill and wisdom in healing. “Barefoot doctoring” is the art of caring for oneself and others. The Barefoot Doctors’ Academy is a nonprofit College of Natural Medicine devoted to teaching about barefoot doctoring. Our main office is located in Hawi! The classes are designed for healers of all backgrounds and level of experience, from moms and dads to doctors. These Barefoot Doctor Training classes are eligible for credit towards the Barefoot Doctors’ Certification Program and the Herbal Medicine Certification Program. Jim Berg, MD is presenting the core curriculum on barefoot doctoring. The curriculum is a sophisticated blend of eastern and western healing, ancient and modern, high tech and low. The theories are correlated with clinical application. Direct and practical medicine is emphasized, as is the natural, safe and sustainable. Dr. Berg brings his academic and clinical skill in the areas of general family medicine, natural medicine, wilderness medicine, therapeutic exercise, herbs and foods, acupuncture, bodywork and especially, barefoot doctoring.
