Dee Anne Domnick has been training women in the art and science of midwifery since 1983, when she founded Birth Rite Education Center (now known as the Barefoot Doctors' Academy). The school achieved international recognition when it received national pre-accreditation by M.E.A.C. (Midwifery Education Accreditation Council). The school stood out from other midwifery schools with its in-depth studies in natural healing and integrative medicine approaches.
